What is Scrapbooking?

Scrapbooking is the creative process of mounting photos, memorabilia, and journaling onto photo-safe paper, highlighting or embellishing them with accents.

What is a Custom Designed Scrapbook Album- Page - project?

A Custom Designed Scrapbook Album/Project is an album, page, or product created and designed specifically around your photo, your event, your memorabilia, your color choices, or theme that showcases your photos.

What if I don't live local to you, can I hire you to Custom Design my scrapbook pages/albums?

Yes, thanks to the world-wide web, I'm able to offer my scrapbook design expertise to everyone via my website.  We can conduct  business via phone, emails, or Instant Messenger, just let me know what works best for you.

What type of products/materials will you be using?

I use materials such as cardstock, patterned paper, eyelets, brads, stickers, fibers, etc. from top manufacturers producing materials that is acid/free and safe to use with photographs.
I will also use any memorabilia; such as newspapers, cards, postcards, napkins, announcements, etc. . . paper items that are not acid/free can be sprayed to neutralize the acid level and mounted on lignin/free cardstock for added safety, or placed inside a memorabilia pocket.

I want a specific product or layout for certain groups of photos.  Can I specify what I want?

If you've found specific papers, embellishments, stickers, etc that you want used for a specific group of your pictures, please include them and make a note as to which photos you want them used for.  If you have found a particular layout in my Photo/Layout Gallery, just mark the group of photos with the layout number. 
You can be as involved or not in the creative process of your album/pages as you like.  If you don't have a specific layout/design/color/theme choice in mind, I will design based on the photos.

What is considered a page?

A PAGE is one side of whatever sized paper you've chosen to have your photos designed on---My fees are based per page so you'll know exactly how many pages and what the total cost to you will be.  The layout here shows a single page.

What is considered a Layout?

A LAYOUT is two (2) facing pages which creates the flow of events and photos in your album and allows for more photos to be grouped for a specific event.  I recommend working in Layouts when possible, if you don't have enough photos for a 2-page layout one of the facing pages can be used to document an event, memory, etc you don't have photographs for with a written story of the event/memory. 

Will you be using my original photos? And what will you do with them?

Yes, I will use whatever photos you give me.  If you're uncomfortable with sending me your only copy--take it to a developer and have a duplicate made.  My advice is to eliminate the boxes and developer envelopes of photos, so I use the originals you send me.
When necessary I do crop photos so that any excess sky, background or distracting background is eliminated; then I attach your photo to the page or matting cardstock with a permanent double-sided photo adhesive.  Please note the photos you do not want permanently matted or cropped.  Cropping photos allow for more photos to be designed into a layout/page and helps to focus on the subject of the photo.  I do not crop/trim more than necessary as I feel the background helps in dating the photograph and is as important.

What types of themes can I use for a Custom Designed Scrapbook Album?

I don't like my handwriting, nor do I know what to journal.  Can you do it for me?

Yes, to some degree.  Journaling is a personal recollection of the events or people in your photographs which can get lost if not recorded.  Each photo/event should be documented with at least Who-names of those in the photo . . . What-is the picture of, if it's not self-explanatory. . . Where-location/place the photo was taken . . .When-month, day, year and/or other important information you can include.  You can either hand-write the information (if you don't want your handwriting to be used I can type it into a word program and print it out onto cardstock), or you can email the information to me, again, I will print it out onto cardstock and design it into the layout.

I want to journal AFTER I receive the album/pages back, is that possible?

Yes, just let me know which pages will need space for journaling, as well as an approximate size of space/cardstock you'll need and I will design around it, and provide you with an archival pen so your handwritten journaling will be not bleed as traditional pens do.

Do you need the album in order to design the pages?

It's not necessary; but, it's always best to work with the actual album so that I can size the pages to fit in the page protectors for that particular album.  I carry a large variety of albums in my online scrapbook store that you can purchase.  If you don't see what you're wanting, just let me know I can special order it for you.  If you have the album I advise that you send it with your photos-it also provides protection for your completed pages when shipped to you.

Do I have to complete the Client Agreement Order Form?

Yes . . . The contract is to make sure I know exactly what you are wanting, so there's no misunderstandings as to what you can expect when you receive your completed designed layouts from me and you're not disappointed when you open your custom scrapbook album.

I'd like you to design an album as a gift---but I do not have the photos and I want it to be a surprise.

No problem . . . just let me know what type of album, the theme to be carried out throughout the album, color scheme, total number of pages if it's more than the minimum that comes with the album, and anything else you can think of that will guide me in designing your surprise gift.  I will then design the pages/layouts leaving photo & journaling space so that they can be added later, or you can choose from what is currently available in my online scrapbook store pre-made department.
